Milestone in data-driven export logistics: Portbase launches Cargo Controller Export powered by BDI standards

On May 18, 2026, Portbase launched its new service, Cargo Controller Export (CCE). This service provides supply chain partners with real-time insight and control over the entire export cargo flow, including vessel and terminal information. A major milestone for our network: CCE is Portbase’s first export service available via an API system integration, fully developed in accordance with the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI) framework.

Event-driven data sharing in practice
By implementing BDI standards, data sharing between logistics partners becomes significantly simpler and more secure. Connected organizations can link their planning or declaration systems directly to the service, eliminating manual entry and the need to manually check individual terminal or shipping line websites.

In line with BDI principles, this new API functions on an event-driven basis. Rather than transmitting massive datasets, the system sends targeted notifications for specific logistics events such as container arrivals, updated vessel schedules, or scheduled inspections. This makes integration into existing software packages exceptionally efficient and future-proof.

Collaboration within the DIL program
The API was developed in close collaboration with the Digital Infrastructure Logistics (DIL) program and the Maritime Living Lab. This real-world application demonstrates how co-designing and implementing shared standards accelerates the digital transition across the logistics sector.

With this step, we continue to build an open, interoperable, and future-proof logistics ecosystem alongside Portbase and our supply chain partners.
