Digital Architecture Design Day: designing digital architecture that delivers value
How can digital architecture deliver demonstrable value for organisations and society? This question will take centre stage at the Digital Architecture Design Day (DADD) in Nieuwegein on 7 October 2026. The programme has now been announced and offers plenty of relevant insights for professionals working on digital collaboration and responsible data sharing.
The DADD programme covers five key themes, with speakers sharing their expertise and demonstrating how these ideas can be applied in practice.
Staying in control of data
One of the central topics is digital sovereignty. How can organisations stay in control of their data, access and digital dependencies as suppliers, regulations or geopolitical circumstances change? This part of the programme combines theory with a practical method that participants can use to assess digital dependencies within their own organisations.
Value-driven architecture is another important theme. It explores how values such as privacy, trust, accountability and explainability can be translated into concrete design choices. For example: what data can be shared, with whom and under what conditions?
The conference will also explore AI, Architecture for Flow and reference architectures. Topics include the changing role of architects as AI becomes increasingly influential within organisations.
Relevant to the BDI
Many of these topics relate directly to the principles behind the Basis Data Infrastructuur (BDI). The BDI governance framework provides the agreements that enable organisations to collaborate digitally while remaining in control of their own data and systems.
The conference is well worth attending if you work on digital collaboration, data sharing or architecture challenges within complex supply chains and networks.
