Digital distribution delivery profile
If you want your goods collections and deliveries to be efficient and offer the best value for money, strict planning is highly important. This is especially true if you visit many different addresses, as they all have their own requirements, preferences and opening times. The ‘Digital distribution delivery profile’ ensures that collection and delivery are perfectly coordinated.
The Digital distribution delivery profile was developed in order to simplify and optimise this logistics process. It is in line with the BDI’s principles and functions like this: a retailer creates a collection or delivery profile. That profile has a unique code and contains the delivery address, plus all the requirements and preferences of that retailer, like information about the best delivery times.
Optimised deliveries
Once an order has been placed, a supplier and their logistics partner are granted permission to view – parts of – this profile. The supplier and their logistics partner can then match their profiles. These profiles include preferred days and times for delivery, which allows transports to be spread over the week. View the presentation of the initiator, Topsector Logistics, for more examples and benefits.
