BDI Fundamentals data training: 9 December
In 2025, the Digital Logistics Infrastructure (DIL) programme is organising one final run of the 'BDI Fundamentals' training course on the principles of the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI). BDI is the framework of agreements that allows you to conduct business in logistics fully digitally and automatically, in an efficient, secure, and trustworthy manner. In a half-day session, IT professionals will learn the fundamentals of this framework. Participation is free of charge.
What will be covered in the training?
- This training will clearly set out why BDI is needed now: logistics disruptions, inadequate information transfer.
- An explanation of what BDI is: roles, core components, principles.
- Overview of semantic standards in freight transport.
- Insight into the link with EU initiatives for federated data sharing and national government policy regarding data strategy and the Digital Transport Strategy.
- You learn by playing. The BDI game confronts you with the real-life bottlenecks and the benefits of federated data sharing.
- The session concludes with possible routes forward: where you can start, which steps are achievable, and how you can translate this to your own organisation.
