11. Digital data exchange in the logistics chain: the case of Connected Trade Network for container transport
Inland container terminals in Germany and The Netherlands have decided to set standards for digital and trusted data exchange together. These terminals are a vital part of the logistics chain, helping numerous organizations supply and acquire goods. In their operations they co-operate with road, rail and barge shippers. For this digital standardization they are using elements of the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI). In this session we will share the setup of the CTN Program, the critical success factors, and lessons learned so far. On e.g. data sharing appetite, the business case for stakeholders, agreements and technology on IAA, distribution of data events based on real life occurrences, and standardization of semantics.
