IT professionals succesfully complete BDI Technical Fundamentals training

Published on April 17, 2026

On Thursday, April 16, several IT professionals from the logistics sector and government successfully completed the BDI Technical Fundamentals training. During this training, they gained in-depth knowledge of the technical operation and application of the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI).

Insight into the technical foundations of BDI

During the training, BDI software engineer Joost Diepenmaat provided participants with a deeper understanding of the technical foundations of BDI. This included an exploration of the various roles within the ecosystem, such as data owners, service providers, and data consumers, and how they collaborate within a federated network.

Key concepts covered included:

  • Identity and authentication within BDI
  • Autorisation and controlled data access
  • The event-driven nature of data exchange
  • The architecture and implementation of BDI services

Through practical examples and interactive elements, participants gained a clear understanding of how BDI can be applied in real-world logistics chains.

At the end of the training, all participants received the BDI Technical Fundamentals certificate.

From insight to application

The training provides IT professionals with practical tools to start working with BDI themselves. In a relatively short time, participants gain a clear understanding of what is required to implement BDI and which steps organizations can take towards digital collaboration. The training will be offered again on June 11, 2026. You can register via the registration page.
