Building the BDI together: getting acquainted, learning, and developing

Recently, Conclusion was selected as a partner for the further development of key components within the Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI). Since the start of this collaboration, various initiatives have been launched to share knowledge, build expertise, and establish a strong foundation for the joint development of the BDI.

An important part of this effort was the BDI Professional training, the first professional-level course offered through the new BDI Academy. During the training, Conclusion employees were introduced to the architecture, principles, and building blocks of the BDI. The focus was not only on theory, but also on understanding how the various BDI components come together in practical applications for secure, trusted, and standardized data sharing.

Over the past period, several introductory visits have also been organized. During these meetings, the teams involved had the opportunity to get to know each other better, exchange experiences, and develop a shared understanding of the ambitions, challenges, and opportunities related to the further development of the BDI. These conversations provide an important foundation for a successful and long-term partnership.

In addition, a joint working group has been established under the leadership of Ewout Bouwman. Within this group, representatives of the participating organizations are working together to define a shared way of working. This includes agreements on collaboration, governance, development processes, and knowledge sharing. The goal is to create a working model that encourages innovation while safeguarding the quality, continuity, and coherence of BDI development.

For us, this marks an important milestone. It demonstrates that organizations are not only interested in the BDI as a framework for trusted data sharing, but are also actively investing in the knowledge, collaboration, and ways of working needed to develop and scale real-world applications.
